Black Pride Public Health Initiative

Upstate Pride SC Black Pride and The Ladies Room (TLR) will collaborate on future programming to identify participants for The Ladies Room Expansion Initiative (TLREI), which is the UPSCBP public health initiative targeting BIPOC TG/NB persons. TLR/UPSCBP will extend their outreach initiatives to combat the HIV epidemic by extending vital services encompassing prevention, care, testing, trauma-informed mental wellness, and treatment to underserved and marginalized communities.

This joint effort aims to promote health equity (mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical) and overcome barriers to accessing culturally competent healthcare providers within the BIPOC Trans and Non-Binary community in Upstate South Carolina.

Collaboratively, both organizations will work alongside other partner agencies and community members to amplify protective factors aimed at mitigating the adverse effects of social determinants of health for people at-risk and living with HIV (PLHIV).
